Acceptable Use Policy.
Last updated 27 October 2026. This is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everything uploaded, shared or generated with drop.media, whether by you, people in your account, or the AI agents and apps you connect.
1. Content you must not upload, generate or share
- Anything illegal where you are or in the UK.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any sexualised content involving minors. We report it to the authorities and close the account immediately.
- Intimate images of anyone shared without their consent, including fakes.
- Malware, viruses, exploits, or files meant to harm devices or systems.
- Phishing pages, fake login forms, or anything designed to collect passwords, payment details or personal data by deception.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights, including pirated software, films, music or books.
- Threats, harassment, or content that promotes violence, terrorism or hatred against people for who they are.
- Other people's personal or confidential information shared without their permission (for example identity documents or private records).
- Content that impersonates a person or organisation in a misleading way.
- Material used for fraud or scams, including fake documents, receipts or reviews.
2. Ways you must not use drop.media
- Sending spam, or hosting files linked from spam.
- Opening several free accounts, or automating sign-ups, to get around plan limits.
- Using public links as a general content delivery network for a website or app in a way that puts an unreasonable load on the service.
- Attacking, probing or overloading drop.media, trying to get around rate limits or security, or accessing accounts, files or systems that aren't yours.
- Reselling or white-labelling drop.media without our written agreement.
- Using it to break someone else's terms or the law, such as distributing content you've been told to take down.
3. AI agents and automation
Agents, scripts and apps connected to your account must follow this policy too, and you're responsible for what they do. Give each one its own API key with only the abilities it needs, and revoke keys you no longer use.
4. What we do about breaches
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove files, revoke API keys, restrict features, or suspend or close the account immediately and without a refund, as set out in section 7 of our Terms of Service. We report illegal content to the police or other authorities where we're required to, or where we believe it's needed to prevent harm, and we cooperate with lawful requests for information.
5. Reporting a problem
If you see a file on drop.media that breaks this policy, or that infringes your rights, tell us through our contact page with the link and what's wrong. We look at every report.
